How Do You Get Fresh Coffee Spills & Dried Stains Out of Carpet in Naples, ME?

Where most of us like our coffee all year long, many indulge more frequently during these colder winter months. Commonly reaching for the steaming, soothing and stimulating cup of a fresh brew, consuming the coffee in the morning or throughout the day, the coffee is a common beverage that is spilt on carpets. It is crucial you instantly tend to the coffee spill, no matter if you are in a rush or not. Leaving the coffee spill can create stubborn stains and develop odors. Today, we at Eddie & Sons Carpet Cleaning would like to share a solution on how to remove the coffee spill.

Promptly Treat Coffee Spill

To absorb up as much coffee as possible, grab either paper towels or a clean cloth. Work your way to the center, after starting to blot the exterior of the spill first. Doing this tactic will prevent the coffee from seeping into the fibers and spreading them out further. Lightly dampen the area should the coffee spill be found dried out, and again, start on the outside working in.

Carpet Cleaner

The mixture: With 2 cups of warm water (not hot), 1 tsp of white vinegar, and 1 tsp of liquid dish soap, mix them in a squirt bottle or bucket. Without over saturating, administer the solution on the coffee, and use a dry cloth to blot out the coffee residue. Repeat the application and blotting until the coffee is removed.

Refrain Scrubbing & Rubbing at Carpet Stains

Do not attack the spill with rubbing and scrubbing methods while treating the coffee spot. Scrubbing and rubbing will only push the coffee deeper into the fibers and spread it out further. Use your fingers and use minimal pressure to concentrate the cleaner and work it in areas.

Treating Tougher Carpet Stains

Try combining baking soda and water into a paste in the event the above mixture only lightened the coffee spot. Simply add a few drops at a time to about ½ cup of baking soda until it is a paste with the consistency of toothpaste. Apply the paste onto the targeted area and leave it to soak in until the paste has completely dried. After it has dried, be sure to vacuum the area thoroughly and any remaining residues and potential odors should be removed.

In an ideal world homeowners want to have their home make a good first impression. One thing that helps a home make a statement to your visitors is for it to be nice and clean when they walk in. An important aspect of having your home clean is for your carpet to be nice and clean. Today Eddie & Sons Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning is going to give you some outstanding tips on how to keep your carpet nice and clean.

Vacuum Carpet Floors

The first tip that we have for you is a simple one. Vacuum your floors on a regular basis. We recommend that you vacuum your floors at least a few times a week. Some people choose to vacuum their carpet every day. If you have pets you will want to vacuum your floor more often to help get rid of the pet dander. When you vacuum you should take your time to go up and back each section of carpet so that you do not miss any spots. You will want to make sure that you clean out your vacuum canister or bag regularly to ensure that your vacuum functions properly.

Clean Spills Before they Get Ground In

Next up on our carpet care tip list is to clean up any spills as soon as you see them. When things are spilled onto your carpet you will want to remove it as soon as possible. Leaving the spill on your carpet gives it a chance to sink into your carpet. The longer that the spill sits on your carpet the harder it is to get out. You should teach your family members that it is important to clean up spills when they happen on their own or come and get you to help them if they cannot remove it on their own.

Blot Carpet Stains, Don’t Scrub

When you clean up spills on your carpet you will want to be careful to clean them properly. You never want to scrub the stained area. Scrubbing will only result in the stain going further into the fibers of your carpet. Blotting is the preferred method of removing stains from your flooring. You can research online for tips on how to remove different types of stains from your carpet.

How to Get Holiday Craft Spills & Stains Out of Carpet

Today we at Eddie and Sons Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning would like to share some tip on how to remove some of these common blunders from off your carpet.

1. How to Get Dried Elmer’s, Super, Gorilla & Glitter Glue out of Carpet:
– Immediately spoon up any excess bulk of glitter glue and place it on a paper towel.
– With a dampened sponge, begin by removing any residue of the glitter glue by working the exterior of the stain towards the center.
– If stain remains, apply alcohol onto a fresh cloth, and gently work the remaining stain out.
– Repeat as needed.
– Rinse with cool water. Do not over saturate.
– Blot away excess liquid, and allow to air dry.

2. How to Get Washable Paint Out of Carpet:
– If there is a large quantity of washable paint, gently spoon up the bulk, and place it on a paper towel to dispose of it.
– Blot all excess moisture with a paper towel, gently pressing at the stain enough to absorb the moisture. Blot from the outside in and don’t us too much pressure, as that can push the stain deeper.
– Dried paint should be scraped up as much as possible with a dulled edge.
– In a spray bottle or container, combine 1 cup warm water and 1/2 tsp dish soap.
– Spray mixture onto the blemish, and gently work out the stain with a clean cloth. Do not scrub as this could make the mess bigger, and push the stain deeper, along with compromising the texture of the fibers.
– Repeat as necessary, until stain has been removed.
– Place a clean, old towel on top of the area, and walk on the mess, carefully walk along the area to lift up detergents and remaining stain to sop up the deeply penetrated moisture.
– Rinse area with cool water in a spray bottle, or sponge cool water to the area, and be sure to blot thoroughly. Do not over saturate!
– If the spot should distort to a brownish color, mix 2 part water with 1 part white vinegar, and sponge the mixture onto the area, and repeat as necessary.

3. How to Remove Cookie Icing & Cake Frosting from Carpet:
– Avoid wiping away the excess as impulse might direct you to do, instead use a spoon or butter knife, and scrap away as much as possible.
– In a container or spray bottle, combine 1 part cold water 1 cup white vinegar. Make sure it is not hot water as this could set in the stain.
– Sponge the solution onto a clean cloth or sponge, and gently blot up the stain.
– Blot remaining moisture with paper towels.
– Repeat if necessary.
– Be sure to allow air dry thoroughly.
Note: Before tending to the stain, always conduct a patch test in an inconspicuous area no matter if you using a homemade remedy or a store bought cleanser.
